I remember a "grunge compilation" put together by Videomusic featuring Red Hot, Jane's Addiction, Kyuss, and even the Flaming Lips!! : D

x zootv tour: for your information, I have all the U2 albums, and I even went to see them at the Pop Mart tour, a huge spectacle of special effects... and it’s precisely for this reason that I've come to such conclusions. Okay, look, I want to be as objective as possible... in fact, Under a Blood Red Sky is a nice live album, and The Unforgettable Fire is a decent little record... but that doesn’t change the substance of what I’ve written: U2 are little more than mediocre purveyors of chart-topping songs. period.

best U2 album: Zooropa; everything else is pure pumped-up crap. Were they innovators? No. Did they invent styles? No. Genres? No. Trends? No. Did they influence? No. Did they really CREATE something? No. What were they? A mediocre band, clever enough (CLEVER, which is not synonymous with intelligent) not to be too much like the crowd; they built a faint personality for themselves, and they mediocrely kept going, always basing their music on maximum possible effect on the audience.. come on, let's also save Boy, which was the most naive album and therefore the least disgustingly aimed at selling as many copies as possible.. The only true intention that U2 ever had.. take that!!

Well, let's not exaggerate... we're always talking about bland epigones... I agree that Blur were a great band... and in the end, the first Oasis too... but the rest is pretty cringe-worthy... are you seriously telling me that bands like Cast, Menswear, Gene, Supergrass, or those utterly annoying Verve, who take My Bloody Valentine and turn them into a mush of teenage pop, are even remotely worth mentioning? .. Bleh! A rather ephemeral genre, more of a byproduct of the outrageous "hype" from the usual English magazines than anything else...

"Golden D," huh? I'll give it another listen, but live the tracks from the first one had an extra kick... at least the louder ones.. I didn't mention "I wish" in the review... beautiful.. do you know it, Francis?
