I'm asking because you've piqued my curiosity: but basically, what kind of music do they play?

From your description, it doesn't seem that progressive (which exponentially increases my desire to listen to it). Nice review!

I confirm your impression. But I think it’s misleading to associate it too closely with Alice... that is a "different world" in every sense, here the plane of reality (imagined or actual) is always present. It's clear, however, that for certain things there is some closeness. See you soon!

beautiful proposal. The word prog rubs me the wrong way regardless (my problem) but they really seem interesting.

Hi! Thank you so much everyone.. it's definitely not a film for all tastes, I'm convinced that even many fans of Gilliam might not like it.. I watched it and was a bit stunned, but then I thought about it, over and over.. and I don't know, I think it's great. After all, a film that makes you reconsider it, which is a rare thing nowadays, means it must have something good about it. But it's not exactly a "normal" film :-) A hug to everyone!

Well, you're right. In the end, it's a matter of personal taste, but they were definitely a group that had their reasons! :-) Bye!

I've never been able to please them, never ever. The Olivia Tremor Control, on the other hand, yes, very much. However, the Elephant Six, a bit like the paisley underground, has always smelled a bit of revival to me. In fact, from this point of view, the Neutral Milk Hotel are among the least "retrograde," but they just don't convince me. Nevertheless, in the end, it seems to me that you attribute characteristics to them that go a bit beyond the actual scope of their music. Not that I'm taking anything away from them, though.

I find her voice in this piece as fascinating as the screeching of cats in love that interrupt your sleep. The song has always come as a consequence.

Well, to me this album seems super easy. I mean, it has linear structures, airy melodies, melodic arrangements. What more do you need to sound "easy"? It doesn’t exactly feel like listening to Schoenberg, just to be clear. With this, "easy" isn't even a synonym for trivial. But they seem a bit overrated to me (just like A Toys Orchestra).
