A great and shining gem that got lost over the years.
A trio consisting of two Norwegians, Nina Johansen and Rune Walle, plus an Indian, Satnam Singh. They are joined for the recording by a Hammond, an electric bass, and a drum kit. The result is an extraordinary mix based on acoustic Prog sprinkled with psychedelia. It was released by the Norwegian Philips in 1970 and, despite being hailed as one of the most beautiful things ever released in that country, it sold practically nothing, so much so that for these reasons and due to family problems of the singer, the adventure of Our Artists stopped immediately after the release of the LP.
The bird to which the album is dedicated is the "Blackbird" by the Beatles, as read in the notes of the beautiful booklet that accompanies the CD reissue.
The beauty of this album is disarming: in its simplicity, it offers moments of soft tranquility that are not easy to find in music. Crystal-clear and perfect: listen to track two "Mother Nature" and, if you come out unscathed, then start praying to the god of biomechanics to grant you a heart.
Then let yourself be lulled by the atmospheres of soft silk and velvet and breathe deeply the incense fragrances that release into the air, listen to Nina's voice and you will be hypnotized by her sinuosity.
Stunning and enchanting. If you then consider that the recordings are from 1969, you'll surely give it an extra half star. Super recommended to those looking for heart-wrenching and collected melodies.
