People must really be anesthetized by the trivialities to waste comparisons and exaggerated ratings on a group that is clearly incapable of writing songs, obviously unworthy of being where they are, inevitably annoying in its uselessness... oh well.

Well, the review is well written... if we were to relativize it solely to the Italian scene, it wouldn't even be such a useless album.

Really a great review, Sallu... You leave me wondering if they are excessively trendy, but I'll look them up right away!

Well, no no, it's clear that if that's the impression you have, I can't force you to have another one... :) I mean, it's not wrong, of course, it's just your impression, plain and simple. Bye!

But excuse me, thank you very much! DT debuted in the late '80s, progressive rock is stuff from the late '60s... with a twenty-year difference, of course they don't sound the same. DT has 20 more years of influences behind them (obvious Rush influence, but also the typical glam of Queen or even worse, '80s street glam), but indeed, we're only talking about a sequence of references... what gives even a hint of modernity? I repeat: nothing. It's clear how everything is terribly associated with something else... the point is that it's not associated with just ONE group, but with VARIOUS groups... they're just technically flexible enough (and I believe it, at least that!) to align with different trends, but there’s never any real reinterpretation.

Now that Columbia is a psychedelic Jam seems exaggerated to me... in any case, regarding the USA/UK comparison, aside from the impossibility of comparing them qualitatively, it is worth highlighting a difference in attitude and approach, which is a direct consequence of the cultural differences you mentioned: that is, Americans are fundamentally more instinctive, raw, essentially intrinsically Bluesy, considerably less pretentious, more genuine (which is not necessarily a virtue in music). The English, on the other hand, are more articulated, refined, naïve, cerebral, often paranoid... which, although I repeat, one cannot make an objective distinction in terms of quality, has always made me find Americans more "likeable" personally : )

And does that seem like an organic fusion to you? Come on... Metallica invented thrash, DT didn’t invent anything; in fact, they call themselves progressive metal, which is just a simple combination of the two terms, probably not by chance... Metallica created a new way of playing metal, while DT did nothing... they sound like a progressive band (but with much less creativity), using palm muting and glam solos... tell me where the organicity is in all this... there’s no real fusion... it's like the very first RHCP: they played punk and funk, but they didn’t do crossover because the two elements were co-present but never blended... just like DT: their sound is not new, but rather a series of rehashes from various styles... it remains an absolutely primitive and superficial fusion.
