Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory

Omeganex, I’m sorry to notice that, as usual, you only see what you want to see.. I’ll tell you very candidly, otherwise I would have to use other tones, because you’re quite irritating. : ) In the meantime, you call me "close-minded"; at the same time, however, you make up things I’ve never done except, mind you, in response to posts that are far more offensive than mine, using the term "offend" in a decidedly inappropriate way. Perhaps it’s not clear to you that there’s no one more deaf than one who doesn’t want to hear, that there’s a big difference between reading, which I have always done, and distorting, which you constantly do when you read comments that go against your opinions, and that is an ENORMOUS symptom of close-mindedness...

ahahah, Simphony X : ) ..obviously the definition of "poor thing" is a very relative one.. in fact, you had the same sad effect on me by going all out with a topic that, alas, has become far too clichéd... to put it plainly, you will be at least the fifth one to desperately try to vent your inability to respond to what I wrote by calling me envious... for the fifth time, I reply: I'm sorry, you misunderstood. : ) the last thing I would want in the world is to become a Dream Theater-style musician. I don't care, it would disgust me, their super technique doesn't touch me at all; the thought of it makes me nauseous. Got it? There are absolutely no reasons for me to be envious, and just to change things up, you didn’t understand anything about the review, or you didn’t want to understand..

I agree with Lemuro as well. In fact, I think this is the exemplification of the limits of the Mogwai... which in this piece become cliché.

we had already figured it out a long time ago, Vinpe... it’s not like you’re discovering something huge... : ) Kevin Moore didn’t play a single note on this record. I couldn’t care less, because I find them disgusting, I’ve never cared about memorizing the names of the famous yet useless musicians that make up this band... since it is an insignificant detail in light of the criticism expressed in the review, there’s no need for you to dwell on it... unless your aim is, as usual, to resort to the petty strategy of getting caught up in an insignificant detail to avoid truly responding to the review. I hope not : ) ciao

Well, I thank you for your objectivity, and for the honestly critical perspective you gave to your comment on my review, a perspective that is more unique than rare; if you’ve looked at some of the comments, you must have noticed. Overall, you pointed out something that is probably true which no one else had noticed before. As for my choice, it wasn’t clever, but rather compelled by the fact that "Metropolis part. 2" is the album I’ve listened to the most (let’s say it’s the one I had to endure more!). That’s because it’s among the favorites of those who listen to them here in Sesto Fiorentino, my cheerful little town. Anyway, although in a more incomplete way, I’ve listened to practically all of their albums, and I have to tell you that my opinion doesn’t change, even though, and you’re definitely right, the discussion of citationism is better applicable to "Metropolis part 2" than to any other of their albums. Overall, however, it seems to me that they are a band incapable of constructing a real personality. Cheers and thanks :)

Exactly. And I was trying to explain to you how the correlations you would have found do not exist. My opinion on the group remains the same regardless of the (evident) inadequacy of most reviews about the group. I was already ahead of your second, quite pointless note, see? :) ..not by chance, my review, which criticizes the DT, comes before most of the forty present. Bye.

I gave a 4 to the review... despite that, I consider the DTs to be worthless. In any case, even admitting that this is a superficial review, the two things are not correlated... it's just that to defend your opinion, Tizio, you try to impose connections on us that don't exist and that we haven't made. The fact that the reviews on the DTs are superficial is quite evident. The fact that the DTs themselves are superficial is just as evident to me... but one thing doesn't cause the other. They are two coexisting facts ; )
