Theresa's.. is maybe my favorite track from Dirty. And sugar Kane isn't bad either.. but overall it always gives me the impression of an album that's so fragile, uninspired, and basically contingent on everything that was booming in the early '90s, if you know what I mean. It's instead exactly what you describe about Dirty, that blend of noise and pop in a balanced way, which I find a lot more in this latest album, and in a much more organic and fascinating manner.. anyway, give it a listen Zione and then let me know ;-)

x Festwca: jumping directly from '88 to this might be a bit daring :-) ..but I want to take up a theme that will definitely be associated with this record (as indeed has been associated by the Ondarock review, which I completely disagree with): this will surely be an album compared to Dirty, because like Dirty it revisits themes from previous albums and attempts to present them in a more communicative way; but for me (and here I’m gambling) Dirty was essentially a failure, in my opinion it’s one of the worst albums by SY (here Zion will kill me!) because it really standardizes the wonderful ideas of the previous records with little originality and a lot of formal exercise. This, on the other hand, I see as the ideal fulfillment of that intent that SY couldn’t achieve with Dirty. Perhaps much closer to Sister than to Dirty in its uneven (but also very shrewd) navigation among the various tendencies of the band members, but also more fascinating, mature, and aware in its various directions, and therefore more successful than Dirty was.

Hello and thanks to everyone :-) ..I admit I'm convinced that most of you will not like this record, because it's fundamentally much less artistically ambitious than ALL the previous SY albums; but I enjoyed it immensely, I was captivated by it from the first listen like none of their other albums (and in this I respond to Sfascia, recommending this album to him because he might be pleasantly surprised, if I’ve guessed his usual approach to SY), it immediately struck me as one of those pop records so oblique that they become fascinating, you just have to take it as such, certainly not as another Daydream Nation.. if you take it as such, I naturally associated it with stuff like Last Splash by the Breeders, Doolittle by the Pixies (with the necessary proportions, of course), those types of records that are as communicative as they are unique: very close to my idea of perfect rock, in short :-)

Nick! A full setlist would be tough, I didn't know all the songs (also because I think they've done more than one cover and more than one new song).. but "Everyday" no, but they did "tears are in your eyes" and also "Season of the shark" and "Decora" from Electr-o-pura.. then if I think of any others I'll let you know ;-) ..thanks everyone for the comments! Trell, how beautiful they are live :-)

Oh yes, long live sincerity :-) ... Well, if you put it this way, I liked ALL the Queen songs at one point... but "Tie Your Mother Down" now just feels like a bland rock 'n' roll track designed to be the opener of the album... and I'm sure if I listen to Queen 1 again, I'll find many better ones than rock 'n' roll (I mean, better, let's say at least endowed with spirit and a significant sense)... Anyway, what really blew my mind about Queen was the collection of videos "Greatest Flix" ... damn, I know it by heart :-)
