nice review. however, that bold line at the end of the first "stanza" doesn’t convince me: I don’t see this great importance and influence in the Meat Puppets (a nice group, no doubt); the infamous indie rock has been "founded" by many... starting with Husker Du and the Replacements... precursors of Grunge I doubt (before Nirvana, there were Green River and Melvins, which have little to do with the Meat Puppets), primarily because Grunge is more of a territorial issue than a musical one. although, this is a different discussion, certain insights have surely been common. even alternative music doesn’t convince me, for the simple fact that if indie rock in the '80s is a definition that makes sense to me, "alternative music" really doesn’t, it seems to mean nothing. bye!
