Pink Floyd The Final Cut
Voto:
Beautiful album but only in parts. The lyrics are stunning but the music doesn't always live up to them.

Sorry, I used the same comment as in "a momentary." However, this album is the better of the two.

I’ve noticed that those who aren’t very familiar with Pink Floyd love this album, perhaps even more than "The Final Cut" and "Obscured by Clouds"; but those who know the band’s history tend to spit on it (generally) because they are loyal to Waters. Let’s stop with the prejudices and listen to this album and the next one with the necessary detachment. This is a good album and the next one is even better. Gilmour is the primary creator of the Pink Floyd sound and is also a great songwriter (see "Shine On," "Comfortably Numb," "Dogs," "Time," "Wish You Were Here," etc., where Waters wrote only the lyrics). Anyone who criticizes Gilmour is criticizing the music I’ve mentioned. And I don’t think Gilmour has lost his musical touch since 1979. He has his own great style, which has been copied by generations of musicians. Without taking anything away from the great Waters.

I haven't heard the album, so I can't comment on it... but after reading quite a few reviews on this site, I realize that Grasshopper is one of the most courteous and knowledgeable reviewers.
Ivano Fossati La pianta del tè

It's strange... you greet "Questi posti davanti al mare" with open arms and downplay "La canzone popolare" in the album "Lindbergh." Despite the presence of De Andrè and De Gregori, "Questi posti davanti al mare" is the weakest song on this album (which by the way is inferior to all his subsequent albums, except for "Lampo viaggiatore"). Furthermore, the hermetic nature of Fossati's lyrics is just a characteristic of some of his songs and is not a flaw, considering the poetic level achieved.

Nice review, but I would be more lenient towards "the folk song": simplicity is not always a sin...

The lunar calendar of September and the testimony of Alonso Chisciano are ABSOLUTE masterpieces even for the lyrics. They are the two highest points of the album.
