Fidia, you can't compare "Profondo Rosso" with "Suspiria" and "Inferno"; they are three different films... especially "Suspiria" and "Inferno" compared to "Profondo Rosso"... I mean, one is a Thriller, while the other two are more similar Horror films...

In my opinion, the only moment when Italy really showed its stuff and demonstrated its musical skills was during the Italian Prog era (let's not even mention the so-called "minor" bands like Il Balletto Di Bronzo) with Banco, PFM, and Le Orme, which are quite well-known in America (PFM), Japan, and Mexico (Le Orme, Banco)... so I believe that Italian Prog was indeed very important; but it has a dimension of its own, separate from the English, French, and German scenes (which is not really Prog Rock, but Kraut Rock)...
