The difference is that with his statistics, KG consistently brought Minnie among the top teams in the West (then competing in the conference finals against the Lakers in 2004 without the two injured starting point guards) :). It seems to me that in your assessment, you struggle to separate Garnett the person (detestable in his trash talking with the weak and in his childish provocations) from Garnett the player (objectively one of the strongest ever in his position and among the best players overall in the last 10 years).

"Even when his team was up by 30, Minnie wouldn’t leave the court until he had his stats in order."… You’re probably confusing him with your beloved Chris Bosh during his time in Toronto, when he was known as Mr. Box Score (not that it went any differently in Miami). Of course, I also agree with the commas in Larrok's posts, even though Dirk deserves an 11/10 on the offensive end.

Eh, but if not this year, then it will be next; my dream of seeing Durant in a Sonics jersey is instead destined to remain such.

Soulman, feel free to add your dino valenti and mayo thompson, and the picture is complete. But what did your protégé, at an unexpected moment, James Harden come up with the other night?

Anyway, maybe the pretax of hardcore in the strict sense isn't considered pioneering, but for the more contaminated hardcore, I don't think that role can be denied, just think of the Beastie Boys who have always defined I Against I as a cornerstone in this regard; after all, as you say, they practically invented crossover.

Yes, it's a crime not to play "Demon Cleaner," for me their absolute best track (after all, I've always preferred "Sky Valley" to "Blues for the Red Sun"). Kyuss rocks!
J Mascis Several Shades Of Why

Neil Young has always acknowledged the great Bert Jansch as his acoustic mentor, so it's not strange at all to speak of Brit influences for his disciple. The album is truly beautiful, but that's no news. If you strip the noise from any "Repulsion," crystalline folksy melodies emerge, not to mention all the acoustic pieces scattered throughout his career or the live "Martin + me" from '96. "Can I," slow and intricate, is his umpteenth attempt to recreate "Cortez the Killer," while "Not Enough" and "Very Nervous and Love" are a summary of the best slacker songwriting of the '90s, and "Is it Done," "Make It Right," and "What Happened" are authentic gems. J Mascis is (still) God.
