"romantic metropolitan decline"....well, I have many doubts about this. In this sense, the Jane's Addiction and the murky stories of the most perverse Los Angeles told by Perry Farrell were something else entirely, and they also created a particular and exciting sound that would become dominant in the 90s. The albums by Motley Crue were artificial junk, soaked in banality and metal stereotypes. Fortunately, Nirvana would arrive to sweep away this polished and pompous music.

The Eagles The Eagles
Voto:
I was born in '77, but as you can tell from my reviews, I really enjoy the West Coast sound. I own a ton of records from that era and therefore I can have a well-defined judgment about that time (whether it’s agreeable or not is another story). Of course, the Eagles were part of the 70s in the USA, but in my opinion, they were the least interesting part. They were America churning out records to monetize a phenomenon that was already dead, and whose main representatives, starting with Neil Young, had already left the country-rock bandwagon once it had become a merchandise category at the supermarket. So, if I really have to contextualize the Eagles, it honestly makes me appreciate them even less. But as Sfascia carrozze says, de gustibus...
