Sly and the Family Stone Stand!
Voto:
Oh my God Psycho, if you find Riot "a bit cold," you risk freezing to death in the Caribbean :) ......jokes aside, whether this is better than that is a matter of triviality, we're talking about an immense group. "Stand," as excellent as it is, has never given me the feeling of crossing the boundaries of soul and becoming an absolute masterpiece like its successor. "Don't call me nigger, whitey," simply a legendary piece. I eagerly await a comment from His Majesty Imasoulman regarding this.....
Pearl Jam Vitalogy

The nice thing is that less than a week ago, an excellent review of Love Battery was published, a band that many detractors of Pearl Jam, connoisseurs of "real grunge pre-91," or the loners of the Seattle scene should appreciate and know. Yet there was only one comment there, while here the usual, endless controversies abound. But that's also the charm of Debaser :).

Supersoul, the fastest gunslinger in the West :)
Red House Painters Songs For A Blue Guitar

Good album, but following up a masterpiece like "Ocean Beach" is tough even for a star like Kozelek. The highlight of the album is definitely the long and winding Young-esque journey of "Make Like Paper." Rating 3.5.
Love Battery Between The Eyes

Beautiful little disc, which on a rocky setup as per the script in the Northwest in those years combines the most lysergic soul of the Screaming Trees (those of "Black sun morning" and "Where the twain shall meet") with harmonies worthy of the Replacements. I’ll leave my comment quickly, before the usual debate on what grunge really is erupts...

Wonderful review, stunning album.

"I am a democrat, I vote socialist".....a groundbreaking film.
Robert Musil I Turbamenti del Giovane Törless
Voto:
One of the best coming-of-age novels ever written, and the majestic Musil’s "The Man Without Qualities" is already hinted at within it. The story is clearly set in a sickly and oppressive context typical of the twilight of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, furthermore immortalized in the outskirts, but it is a pleasure to read.

Of course, they were talking about Stone Temple Pilots :)

Beavis: Is this Pearl Jam?
Butt-head: This guy makes faces like Eddie Vedder.
Beavis: No, Eddie Vedder makes faces like this guy.
Butt-head: I heard these guys, like, came first and Pearl Jam ripped them off.
Beavis: No, Pearl Jam came first.
Butt-head: Well, they both suck.
