I liked the review, knowledgeable and passionate; in these times, I hold onto it tightly. Pretazzo, well, Westerberg competes with Bob Mould and a few others, while Pirner was just a good and honest rocker.

The legend tells that it was none other than the very young Pirner's hoarse "fuck you" that greeted the police's intrusion in Minneapolis at the beginning of the immortal "kids don't follow" by the Replacements. Great review, nothing more to add.

Eh imasoulman the old Arthur had a veneration for Burt, even the title "A House is not a motel" is a tribute to "A house is not a home" made famous by Dionne Warwick. Also quite long is the list of those who have revered the leaders of Love (Jim Morrison first, Elektra signed the Doors precisely on Lee's recommendation).

Among the most memorable debuts ever, at the crossroads of acid folk, R&B, and garage abrasions. I would also mention "softly to me," the first example of Maclean's soft compositions, the effeminate counterpoint to sanguine Lee, who would go on to surpass himself with "orange skies" and "alone again or" in the subsequent albums. "Signed DC" is one of the most piercing blues laments of all time. A simply immense and unique band within the flower power context of those years.

Perfect reception, live from the heavens. And let’s link this blessed country-rock version of "Flying on the ground is wrong" (which back in the Buffalo days, like its twin gem "Nowasays Clancy can't even sing," was sung by Furay and not by a still vocally uncertain Nello).

This is a good record, pleasantly schizophrenic as it gathers tracks from different periods and created or performed with different backing bands (International Harvesters, Bluetones, Crazy Horse of course). The three highlights of the bunch, "beautiful bluebird," "Boxcar," and "ordinary people," are also the ones pulled from the distant past. "Silver and Gold," like "Prairie Wind," is yet another refined reimagining of the archetype of "Harvest" and touches the hearts of us nostalgics, but like all greats, Nello is capable of rereading his own code, giving it a new refraction each time. Unfortunately, after Ben Keith's death, it will be very difficult for him to produce something new in that vein. There would be enough material for a novel about Nello's '80s, with personal struggles, battles with record labels, political acrobatics, and stylistic shifts providing plenty of inspiration. However, Reactor, Trans, and This Note's for You are significant works, and even in the less successful albums like "Everybody's rocking" or "Old ways," Nello puts down gems like "Payola Blues" or "Misfits." Long may you run, Neil.
