Cool, honestly I didn't understand what you want me to respond to. It seems to me that the positions here are quite irreconcilable anyway. And that's fine, we don't have to agree on everything. Taste, especially in art, is just a result of one's own subjectivity. The rest is just provocations and mockery (based on alleged inaccuracies of mine as a reviewer, which I could explain one by one, but that would take until tomorrow morning...). I'll check back tonight. See you soon.

Dearest Undy, your dear little heart. From the vote given to "With Tette" (you're the only one who gave it a 5, just a reminder), I understand that you are a die-hard fan of the pelìde Reznor. Your attachment to Trent's wallet suggests the rest... Did you listen to it during your first kiss with your girlfriend? Well, you know... being a reviewer sometimes means trying, as much as possible, to set aside your own feelings. Out of curiosity, I downloaded this "With.." to listen to it. I’ll tell you that, although it's not easy to assess on the first listen, it certainly bears the new influences of the current trend (the sounds are quite aggressive)... but it's not dreadful, cacophonous (and lacking any sense, especially), like that piece of CRAP "Downward Spiral." But you, be careful with phrases like "the umpteenth great album, etc. etc.," otherwise you'll end up like those defenders you so denigrate, for whom the whole world is either metal or garbage. I’ll be back this week to give my rating to the album. Bye.

I don't know the compilation. But be careful, the Sepu have always followed the trends: in the '80s they were thrash (see "Beneath The Remains"), in the '90s they switched to death (let's say from "Arise" onwards), and then they leaned towards nu ("Roorback").

I'll tell you (hate me if you want) but I really liked "lost and found." But they are truly made of different stuff (except for that abomination that was "LD50"). Yes, M. Proust, you are right. There were already four reviews. But they all were well done. I thought it would be useful to give a voice to those who have never fallen for the media trick. Next time, I will hold back...

What about Undying, do you vote 2 or 3 times to be sure that, besides your own, this other truth doesn’t come to light?
Carlos Santana All That I Am

I had a good laugh reading the review, Alexander.. Anyway, "Abraxas" remains a masterpiece... This Santana is a bit like the "Maradona of Rock"... too bad about the end that both of them met, but "la mano de dios" was only theirs...
(One of these days I'm going to listen to the duet Hammet - Santana, just for pure masochistic spirit)

I'm responding to Cool and then I'm signing off. Slipknot was clearly crafted by American majors. This was not always the case in such proportions until the '80s. To give an example (and please, let’s not start, I’m not hanging on Axl Rose's lips or Slash's strings), Guns N' Roses were cultural phenomena just as much as Slipknot. But at least their first album really said something new (the Stones and black blues getting mixed into hard rock, just to give you an idea). People like the Cavalera bros., In Flames, Schuldiner, Phil Anselmo, Dimebag Darrell, and many others took years to reach maturity and media success. These Slipknot have been directed and properly promoted, despite still being quite immature. That’s all.

Eh, metalheads are like a mafia... woe to you if you touch their "belief system"... Honestly, criticism doesn't bother me that much. What I want is primarily an invitation to reflect: to put the "worm in the brain" of the defenders (in this case, of nu metal) who live a bit too confidently in their convictions.

I’ll tell you, if this is a masterpiece, then Iowa is also worthy of appreciation. The style is the same, the ideas too. It’s convenient for the Roadrunner to claim that they are finished (the last one didn’t seem that bad, but I need to listen to it more) in order to launch some other freakshow phenomenon. When they start becoming artists with their own ideas, they get dropped. And that’s the dictate of the new millennium.
P.S. I’m glad you call me a defender (maybe because I reviewed the albums of the legendary Ronnie Dio), but I disagree with the true metallers on almost the entirety of their "creed."

I'm preparing a review of "Damage Done" by Dark Tranquillity, which is an example of well-crafted extreme metal.
