Slayer Diabolus in Musica

I don't understand your point, Stoney; for me, this is music that "rocks," in the sense that it's straightforward and aggressive. Sometimes it works to vent, to feel a bit of chaos. Ah, and I believe that most people who make "comparisons between types of noise" (???) do it in a friendly way. I don't think it can be otherwise, or at least I hope so.

I've noticed that the same discussions keep coming up regarding Slayer's reviews. The lyrics are just a pretext; what truly matters here is the music. And they always deliver, even with this controversial album. Then expecting musical innovation or ultra-sophisticated lyrics seems really ridiculous to me. We also need to evaluate them based on this: HOW they do what they WANT to do. If someone approaches a Slayer album expecting to find electronic avant-garde or discussions on the condition of modern man, it's obvious they've chosen the wrong band. Olè!

Listened to it again not long ago, and it’s still no good: perhaps the worst in their discography. Incredible band nonetheless. Practically perfect up until Temple. A war machine.

What a band...this album is much calmer compared to the debut, but it’s great all the same.

I quote Bartol, how the hell does this "kick in the ass with safety shoes disguised as a musical album" have so few comments??? They are THE Masters, one of the few sludge bands that doesn't bore me even for a millisecond. 5! p.s.= also, in this one Williams has a voice (?!?) that would make even the most convinced black metal fan run away!
Mineral The Power Of Failing

A superb disc, as others have said, one of the peaks of emocore (or emo-rock or whatever the hell you want!) of the '90s. "Gloria" is the masterpiece within the masterpiece.

I agree on Bloodlet and Turmoil, but Disembodied are new to me. I would also add Unbroken.

Oh my God, surely few bands have managed to reach such a level of sonic violence. The singer was terrifying, just listen to "Helvetica" to realize it. Devastating.

I've never understood the whole "aged badly" thing. What does it mean? What sense does it make? Is it necessarily a flaw? This movie still kicks ass even now. I watched it again 3 weeks ago. There you go.
