That's why I said "in most cases": it’s a different matter when talking, as you mentioned, about Blues, Jazz, Gospel... classical music was important for later music, but it didn't carry a particular message with it; it was magnificent entertainment. Right now, there are so many bands that write fairly anonymous, banal lyrics, full of clichés, not to mention love songs... they don't carry specific messages with them, they are simply entertainment.

After all, what music has themes so serious that it should be taken very seriously? The music discussed on this site is music, it's not politics or literature... and the lyrics and iconography surrounding a band are just a filler for the music, in most cases... always according to my point of view, of course.

This is a great work, and I am astonished by all the low scores that this album has received, clearly from people who have never listened to it. This must be UNIVERSALLY acknowledged as a masterpiece, beyond personal tastes, for the fact that it has indelibly marked music over the past ten years.
