But the Beatles are not here now simply because they emerged at a time when 90% of rock music had yet to be written. It was the "roaring" 60s, almost everything was a novelty in the pop/rock scene. The further we go, the fewer things there are left to invent. Finding original music that has come out in these years is obviously difficult, and of course, much of the music, as great as it may be, feels like it’s been heard before...

Well, Primiballi: Slint, Vampire Rodents, Mercury Rev, Radiohead, Lisa Germano… etc., it doesn’t seem to me that the music of the '90s is so irrelevant… :)
