Poletti, look, one of the best Jim Carrey performances is right in this film. Sure, this movie is light-years away from being a masterpiece, but it’s entertaining, and Carrey does an excellent job of holding everything together. It will probably be re-evaluated in about ten years like all the movies of a mistreated genre (the comedy one). In the dramatic parts, Jim Carrey is not even remotely comparable to when he makes faces and makes people laugh, which is his trademark. In The Truman Show, he’s good but not exceptional. In the recent "The Number 23," he’s good but not exceptional either; in short, he’s skilled but doesn’t stand out like he does in comedy. I prefer him in Ace Ventura, The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, and in this film.

I like AOR, but this album, while being perfectly performed and containing no flaws, feels too much like a craft and has melodies that are heard and re-heard. For example, the refrain of "someday" (which many consider the best track on the album) is identical to the legendary "hearts of the world" by "house of lords." I don't know, I find them too perfect and a bit cold; rarely do European bands, in my opinion, manage to surpass Americans in their field (melodic rock). It remains a good album (the opener is beautiful, for example), but in my view, it is too overrated by AOR critics. Great review!

Movies like this are what we need, to spend an hour and a half carefree, envying Gibson...

Very nice, clearly superior to The Untouchables, which I find a bit boring and in which I would only save De Niro's performance; however, as usual, Pacino is spectacular.

These snobs à la Sanjuro who listen to music only to flaunt their CD collection should be avoided like the plague. People who get intellectual kicks while evading the pure pleasure of listening to music.

I just read the review now and perhaps you're exaggerating a bit. Rumsfeld and Cheney weren't in power at the time the film was released.

Not everyone can make you laugh without being irreverent about a subject like that. Great movie!

You can do it Punisher ;-)! Unfortunately, I haven't seen the movies you mentioned, but the arc is on the list.
