The Feelies Crazy Rhythms

Beautiful album! The idea that the 80s = shit music is an urban legend that started in the 90s, a decade when the mainstream was definitely of a good level and far from the tackiness and superficiality of the 80s, but otherwise it was a golden decade. On debaser there are probably dozens and dozens of reviews of 80s albums saying "not all 80s music was shit," which already proves that it was a great decade, musically more vital than ours for sure.
Hayao Miyazaki IL CASTELLO ERRANTE DI HOWL

I remember it as beautiful (like all Miyazaki films), full of surprising and original ideas, but also with a second half that is much weaker and predictable. Far from the perfection of Spirited Away: 4-

The Emperor are essential in the genre; they had a compositional edge over other bands.

The review is very beautiful and heartfelt, but in my opinion, at a certain point, it gives a false impression of the album, which is anything but the sunniest. The ultra-tragic finale of "stop swimming," the same "don't hate me" that you mentioned, carries a strongly melancholic vein that is present even in the slightly more cheerful tracks. It seems to me that the album starts almost in an optimistic nostalgic way, only to descend into darkness and tragedy. The sunniest album by Porcupine remains "Lightbulb sun," and in my opinion, "In Absentia" is less melancholic than this one. Other than that, great review, amazing album.

Great review.
I’m glad that time has vindicated two works (Watershed and especially Ghost Reveries) that were not appreciated back in the day, especially Watershed. In my opinion, those works represent their complete maturity (Ghost Reveries is a wonderful synthesis of their current approach to prog and the past). For this reason, I’ve always been a bit apprehensive about tackling Heritage and this latest album, out of fear of less personal sounds. I might give it a few listens and see, but the Opeth I prefer are those with a unique and unmistakable sound that combines extreme outbursts with sweet melodies. For this reason, I’ve always found Damnation boring and mannered, which was nonetheless justified as it belonged to the same period as Deliverance, where they decided to separate the extreme tracks from the softer ones.

Thank you all!
Provate provate is an album that flows smoothly like oil. The strangest thing is "how did they not achieve success?" They have all the numbers. They are certainly not an Italian band! Maybe a certain dark new wave revival isn't as popular now as it was a few years ago!
Joss Whedon Buffy The Vampire Slayer

hjhhjj I don't know if you'll read this since I'm writing to you after more than a year, but anyway, Whedon has always disowned Alien 4; they completely messed up the script, and he's pissed off about it. So, you're right, but it's not Whedon's fault. However, he did an amazing job on Toy Story. Firefly is another little gem. As for the rest, some of the shows you like have writers who cut their teeth on Buffy; frankly, it remains the only serious adaptation of comic book storytelling ever done on TV. If you can get past the trashy and naïve first season, you’ll be pleasantly surprised, much more than you can imagine.
Eiffel 65 Contact!

The review isn't bad; it almost makes you believe that what you say is true :-) it very well could be, but I probably won't delve deeper. However, the accolades to Winehouse, like it or not, were completely legitimate, and frankly, I don't see the point in comparing the dance of the Eiffel with the soul and black sounds of Winehouse. I believe one of the reasons for their failure is also due to the fact that the genre they proposed had been declining for several years and they had the sheer luck of releasing their first album during the last years of the 90s dance boom. Anyway, if today's Italian music needs to be remembered for something, it would be better to have someone else than the Eiffel, frankly.

aaah! my fake Nazi version of Maurizio Testi! However, I only portrayed dear Nazi Testi in this and a few other cases, it was too good to be true. The original was more serious. Poor nickghostdrake, I wonder how many troubles he had with all the emails received.
