Rush A Farewell to Kings

thank you music man!!!
Fu Manchu Daredevil
Voto:
Anyway, if Strangler associates them with the early Rush albums and says that Fu Manchu sounds like Rush and has keyboards, he’s said a double nonsense, because Rush, at least up to "Farewell to Kings," never used keyboards, maybe just a few synthesizer notes. It was only in the '80s that they started using them, so...
Thin Lizzy Johnny The Fox

I haven't listened to the album in question; I only know jailbreak, which I like, but I understand why some people don't vibe with it. It really lacks that "fire," as 6+9 would say, that energy and madness. Anyway, they have written masterpiece and immortal songs; they are a great band that has contributed to rock in any case. Maybe they haven't created masterpieces, but they have released nice albums. I'll have to listen to something else to judge!
Thin Lizzy Jailbreak
Voto:
Thin Lizzy are a band that has always had great musical insights, always ahead! "the boys are back in town" can rightfully stand alongside classics like smoke on the water or stairway to heaven. The CD grows on you with each listen; I was a bit disappointed at first, but now I appreciate it more. Anyway, it's very nice, although I think there are better bands in hard rock. Great CD!
Deep Purple Made In Japan

I’ll be clichéd, but for me, this is the best live performance ever produced. Absolutely stunning!
Strapping Young Lad City

sound apocalypse, great record, truly genius, although let's be honest, they owe a lot to Fear Factory whose influence is evident. But while Fear Factory is the soundtrack of a world dominated by robots, Strapping are the soundtrack of the impending apocalypse!
Pestilence Testimony Of The Ancients
Voto:
By "use of the guitar," I meant that the usual death chords aren't being ground out and it's also used in higher keys! It's normal for the guitar to be used! Sorry, but I expressed myself like an idiot!
Pestilence Testimony Of The Ancients

The bass lines in some parts are really beautiful, but saying that the guy from Pestilence is the best metal bassist is quite a stretch; moreover, it’s not like he’s audible in all the songs. He doesn’t overdo it with technicalities, but he has a good touch and knows where to place his parts! The album is stunning, even if it has nothing to do with prog or jazz, at least this album. The only thing that distinguishes it from the usual death metal is the use of keyboards and the guitar, especially in the solos, which reach genius in some tracks. A masterpiece!
Breach It's Me God

Thank you, StefanoHab, you have been more than thorough! Of the groups you mentioned, I only know Dillinger Escape Plan, of which I have Calculating Infinity and the EP Irony Is a Dead Scene, both crazy. Although Calculating is also heavily influenced by grind, so I wouldn't categorize it as post-hardcore. Maybe among those you recommended, I will start with Converge, since you all speak very highly of them in your reviews!

Yes stefanoHab, you’re right, they are two completely different styles, but for convenience, they are categorized in the same genre, which is why I mentioned them together. Isis are very different from the two groups mentioned, yet they too fall under the post-hardcore umbrella! Stefanohab, can you recommend other bands with genius comparable to these groups that play post-hardcore? I would be interested in deepening my knowledge of the genre!
