Thank you all for the comments, I wanted to correct the album by Nick Cave and the beautiful Kicking Against the Pricks, which was released in '86 and not in '87 as I mentioned. Moreover, looking at the credits for the song Black Betty, only one name is mentioned, and that is LEADBELLY. The lyrics may perhaps date back to before Leadbelly, but the version we know is surely the work of LEADBELLY.
