Manson may have been original at the beginning (not so much if you consider what David Bowie has done since the 70s), but now he has definitely worn out his welcome. Focusing everything on the look, it is also inevitable that the music offered is not great. Did he do it just to mask the not-so-great musical and compositional quality of himself and his band? (That's the doubt I have every time I come across theatrical and extravagant-looking bands.)
