Not to start any pointless controversies, that's not the point here. I just wanted to emphasize how thin the line is that separates the punk and dark genres (after all, it's undisputed that Siouxsie was dubbed the queen of Durk - Punk). Watch the video for "Golden Brown" by The Stranglers and tell me how you would define them, and "Night Time" by Killing Joke seems to me anything but a wave album. I forgot to mention the Dead Kennedys, Dead Can Dance (it's true, they can also be classified as dark, but who cares), the fantastic Exploited, and the more recent Rancid (if I think of anyone else, I'll let you know; I also feel like being a nuisance...).

I’ll intervene briefly to say that the idea that true punk ended in 1980 is utter nonsense (the names that come to mind are Ramones, Damned, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Stranglers, Killing Joke, Misfits, Buzzcocks, Cramps, Stiff Little Fingers, Black Flag, Husker Du...) and to give a fair assessment of both the review and the album...
