a flash of genius in a sea of totally useless reviews! well done! and with this, you complete the circle after the excellent piece on Pieranunzi/Johnson/Baron. I saw Mehldau a couple of years ago at the Auditorium in Rome for the tour of his previous album, and I have to say I was really struck by his new "cleaned up" look (enough with the stereotype of the brilliant but troubled artist!). I don’t have his latest work yet—I’m currently on a heavy-oriented trip—but after your beautiful mention, it reminded me "where I come from"... again, great job; I really like how you write.
