The first two Radiohead albums are masterpieces, and the others I've just listened to, but even so... Seriously, I wonder where people who make these claims have lived over the past 10 years and what they've been listening to. Radiohead are THE BAND of this decade just because they made KID A, AMNESIAC, and OK COMPUTER. The first two albums are brit pop records that, moreover, are rather unsuccessful and definitely inferior to any album by Blur... just to name a random band that did brit pop. KID A is perhaps the fundamental album of recent years, a masterpiece, a cornerstone of music in these years. I wonder how one could think that a record like Pablo Honey is better.

Can you not offend the Radiohead just because you listen to nonsense like the Muse and you're mad at yourself? Then with Linkin Park, do whatever you want...

Mainstream is simply a way of communicating a product, in this case, music. If you distribute a product to the large-scale distribution, that is, the GDO, and you communicate it through certain mass consumption channels (like commercial TV and radio, which need to make profit), that is mainstream.

If you say things like "surprising. I was expecting a linear album with the usual Interpol sounds.. but that's not the case," I really wonder what album you listened to, because what it offers is exactly what you claim not to find, namely linearity and the usual Interpol sounds..

It was simply a way to make you understand that some things, since you must have listened to at least 2 discs in your life, are just not sustainable.. but OBJECTIVELY they are not.. then I didn't tell you whether I like the album or not (and that’s something subjective..)

have someone explain to you what mainstream means in the field of communication... then we’ll talk about it again...

So, the light show is really cool... they don't mix anything at all... they just stand there with their helmets doing nothing... it's all pre-mixed, try listening to the live from Miami and Turin side by side... absolutely identical transitions...

you have a bit of a childish reaction... if you leave a review here, you already know that you will receive both praise and criticism... I simply cannot understand how you can find this album disorienting... just listen to any dark wave from the 80s or even the first two albums by the same Interpol to realize that this is an album of continuity (and mediocrity?!?) and certainly not of breaking new ground... moreover, I would say that it is definitely more accessible, at least compared to Turn On, and the melodic lines of the tracks are definitely more straightforward and catchy... just think about how much less linear Stella was melodically speaking, or even PDA... maybe it means nothing, but even Pitchfork, who has always praised them, made a critique of this kind and gave it a 6.0, which in my view is way too high... just to say that I'm not the only one who thinks this way (but it seems I have stated the obvious...)

Anyway, the interpol are 57 steps up... even though the last one is pretty mediocre, almost as much as these here...
