Now that I think about the Battiato concert I saw last year (very beautiful), among the many classics he even slipped in "Meccanica," I believe... occasionally he performs some old tracks... and I don't think he has renounced these albums: if I know Battiato well, I am sure he deems every phase and life experience important... and then there's always a bit of electronic and experimental push in his works, better organized at most: see "X Stratagemmi."
