So you can play it safe with the first 4... Then stop. Maybe Riot act isn't bad, but the first 4 are on another level.

Well, I partially agree and partially don’t. I was talking about the early Pearl Jam. The Ten-Vitalogy-VS trilogy. No Code is a different story (in my opinion, their peak). As for the Alice, well, I can’t imagine them without Stanley’s half-dead voice and the harmonies in fifth (something that almost only they do) and their guitars so dirty they sound out of tune (maybe they were), so it’s hard for me to compare them with these posers-post-grunge idiots Nickelback. However, The Heads might be a bit too much :), and maybe Colour Haze with their 24-minute psycho-stoner suites (but I love them too much to leave them out of any list :)).

"Are Nickelback the commercialized Alice in Chains?? Ehhhh???" Where? Maybe Pearl Jam, or even Soundgarden and Mudhoney. But not Alice in Chains. Then... "absurd names just to impress," you know I couldn’t care less about impressing... I mentioned the first bands that came to my mind and that are worth listening to, regardless of cultural-musical background. It’s not like one can’t listen to Mars Volta if they don’t have the entire discography of Pink Floyd first. And I assure you, Porcupine Tree are much more "easy listening" than Alice in Chains. Anyway, everyone is free to express their opinion. In any case, the common thread is "no Nickelback"! :D! Bye!

Listen to Colour Haze, or Kyuss, or Porcupine Tree (more soft), or The Heads, which were just reviewed recently..simply fantastic.

Oh my God. The copy of Creed that is the copy of Counting Crows that is the copy of Bush that is the copy of Pearl Jam (who, by the way, have never shone for originality). Everyone wanting to sing like Vedder. A review slightly at odds with the rating.
