Soundgarden Down On The Upside

Not a bad album... I must say it's aged quite well, although it's a bit too long, but they poured their heart and soul into it.

I also think that this album is not bad, definitely just side A, but songs like Mama and Le case dal mare show that quantity and quality can go hand in hand. The big regret is why they didn't use Thompson and Stuermer in the studio albums as well.

Wow, he already made another album of unreleased tracks? He's prolific to the point of being scary! By the way, in December on his official website he freely released (how generous) an EP with five songs, including a cover of Impressioni di settembre.

Well... I mean, sure, they had success, but it wasn't astronomical; their albums and concerts were reasonably priced, they never went to Sanremo, their television appearances can be counted on one hand, and when they no longer had motivation, they disbanded without scraping the bottom of the barrel like many other bands...

It's true! The version by Miro Sassolini is great, beautiful also "speranza" from that album and "le cose da fare" from his solo work... what a huge loss for Italian music with his retirement.

It is written on the official PFM website in the "curiosities" section.

No, in fact Di Cioccio said that he even looked at him badly.

Di Cioccio asked who a certain Halifax mentioned in a song was, and Gianfranco Manfredi made up the tale of the inventor of the blues, and Di Cioccio naively believed it and repeated the same story to F. Zappa.

Great album! The departures have done wonders for the band's sound, which here is much less pretentious; in some moments, it's almost rock grandeur, especially in the duet with Gianna Nannini.

There’s an anecdote about this album, Franz Di Cioccio intended to make an English version and asked Frank Zappa to translate it, but the musician couldn’t make sense of Gianfranco Manfredi’s obscure lyrics, so Di Cioccio came up with an absurd story about the blues and who had created it. The project then fell through because Zappa had other commitments, and PFM would have to wait another six months.
