Ozzy Osbourne-Randy Rhoads Tribute

Let it be clear that guitarists like Steve Vai, Satriani, or Paco de Lucia are on another planet... but this doesn't take away from Zakk Wylde's skill. The fact is that if you take a look at all the reviews written about him, Ozzy, and the Black Label Society, everyone (especially the "experts") has countless words of appreciation for him and his technique. As you can see, I'm not the only "thick-headed" person... bye.

To be honest, I prefer Randy as well... and indeed it is clear from my review... (maybe you didn't understand it... but it's not your fault...). As for V. H., if you had the chance to read the reviews, at some point I also write that between the two I can't see any difference in certain aspects (obviously you haven't read that either). And in any case... just know that in an American magazine from some time ago, a panel of experts created a ranking of the top 100 guitarists, judging them based on technique and personality. Well, if Randy came in at 4th, Zakk came in at 6th. First was Tony Iommi and second was Van Halen. No matter how much you insist on saying otherwise, Zakk Wylde is an excellent guitarist... this is shown by the fact that in all the live performances with Ozzy (who, by the way, fell in love with him when he still had a bit of salt in his diet... and this is Zakk’s greatest credential), Randy’s solos (of which he is the biggest fan) have always been performed in a manner absolutely not inferior to the original... at least technically. Zakk's limitation is that he hasn't invented anything... but what he has learned from others he has learned with great class (don’t mind his roughness in aesthetics and sometimes even in music)... and above all he has learned it with his heart... and that is what matters. In any case, if you want to disagree, feel free to do so, but the talent of Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist is immense and objective, just as the talent of Adriano in the Inter... If one is from another team and moreover not being sportsmanlike, then the stubbornness arises spontaneously... I’m sorry, but you are a person full of prejudices and this prevents any type of discussion. Bye.

I agree with you...completely...but I'll give it one point less because Zakk didn't play on this record...WHY? On "Down to Earth," his presence was the added value of the album...while here, they left him on the bench. Given the goals this record had...they could have done without the Wild Card...

Your criticisms are blunt, superficial, and completely immodest. Zakk Wylde is a great guitarist... clearly, you've never listened to his masterpiece, "Book of Shadows"... Your reply is so superficial that it doesn't even deserve a response, to be honest... however, let me just remind you of this: while he was alive, Randy wasn't celebrated like he is now; on the contrary, he was considered a good guitarist and nothing more... not coincidentally, I mentioned in the review above that death induces emphasis and sometimes hyperbole... but evidently, your superficiality didn't take that into account... because you lingered on the shores of your stupid underlying prejudice... Anyway, it’s clear that you don’t like critiquing reviews, because frankly, you’re not capable at all... yours was more of a reaction from someone fundamentally ignorant than a true critique... comments like yours should be aborted because they are completely inadequate for a comparison of ideas... jiettojet: when democracy has a limit.

Helloween Keeper Of The Seven Keys - The Legacy

The review of this album has been on my mind for a while now... and as they say, better late than never... However, I would have written it in a way not too dissimilar from yours regarding the content (which I largely agree with). I would say, though, that the comparison with the past isn't so unfeasible for qualitative reasons, but for a much simpler matter: the two keepers have changed the history of metal for reasons and causes that even those same pumpkins from Hamburg had overlooked. Their sound was a happy metal (not happy meal..), cheerful, carefree, and joyful, barely hinted at in the last albums by Priest (I think especially of the sound of Defenders of the Faith..). Now, the very fact that there's an intentional reconstruction of that harmony and those melodies born from unrepeatable circumstances, makes this album "fake" and pretentious. This is evidenced by the long suite (not suit!)... beautiful and pleasant, as you've rightly said, but really, too much (and shamelessly) derived from the sounds of 18 years ago... the double solo towards the end of the song seems like a "stripped" fragment from one of those two old vinyls patched together in the year 2005. The song is beautiful and enjoyable nonetheless... I completely agree with you on the rest... I just want to point out Gerstner's freshness; an excellent guitarist, perhaps too technical for Helloween's sound... however, his songwriting has at least had the merit of somewhat modernizing the band (although the sound of the ex-Freedom Call appears several times...).
Deep Purple The Battle Rages On...

This time, the review convinced me; it's very enlightening. The album may be a bit less beautiful than what you say... however, despite this, it makes me think... it's a shame it was the last one with the "guitarist" from Deep Purple...

But come on, take it easy... Floydman, really no problem. Critiques from people like you are always welcome... the important thing is to justify them... of course, I’m talking about us common mortals... if we were kill god or Maccio Capatonda, the conversation would be different... They can afford to criticize anything because they are beyond any critique... they are above good and evil!!!! Lucky them...

grrrrrrrrrrr..it was to reply to that asshole Arf! Radioactive_toy, even though I don't agree with you on some points, I really appreciate your micro (not so micro, after all) review...let's say macro comment, shall we!...Maybe if we ideally merged it with mine, we would have come up with a really beautiful piece of work..next time let’s write it together, shall we...(of course under the supervision of Maccio Capatonda...(see comments-interferences above))
