Ah, the dubbed version is circulating too, but it’s not the same thing.

Immense Lion. An epic film practically perfect in every way — characters, historical reconstruction, plot, direction. The only problem is that we may never know the definitive form that the director wanted to give to this "fucking masterpiece" :P

I've never heard them, but the soundtrack of daunbailò was amazing; I believe it was indeed by Lurie, great suggestion!

I don't understand, even Spielberg, being Hollywood, should be part of the Zionist lobby and brings the Red Army to Schindler's camp; perhaps the arrival of the Americans is somewhat a way to distance himself from that film. Come on, I really don't believe that Benigni has become pro-American, I just can't believe it.

For me, it's a beautiful film. I remember watching it after overcoming all my prejudices about hippy culture, etc., but I was truly captivated. I find it very American, a sort of summation of the myths and experiences of that place. For me, the iconoclastic fury is the recovery of a certain American tradition.

In the end, this review has gone beyond its limits :) Yes, the relationship between immanence and transcendence is incredibly fascinating, and I believe that it manifests in various forms throughout culture. It's a kind of existential reflection between surrendering to the life flow and seeking another dimension. In their extreme forms, these two poles are exemplified, in my opinion, in Calvino's book Il cavaliere inesistente, where Gurdulù, consumed by life, identifies so completely with things that he loses his own identity, while the Knight, in his abstraction, has a definitive form but lacks substance.
