David Silverman I Simpson - Il Film
Voto:
Watched last night, a disappointment mitigated only by the fact that it aligns with the creative decline of the latest series. The Simpsons, these Simpsons, are superficial and pointless, like the Vanzina movies where the hot girl arrives in a Smart or things like that think they capture the essence of contemporary life by stuffing the story with symbols and current myths. En passant, even the relentless referentiality of The Simpsons has become tiresome. The Simpsons are over; they should have ended years ago.

No, no, you’re right. My note wasn’t about the content. It’s true that everything you mention is there: the case and the calculation, the chessboard, the necessity. Let’s say it’s the last part of the review, when you open up to universal considerations, which I find a bit out of place compared to the whole. I repeat, more in form than in meaning because yours is excellent.

great film, I remember discovering the first Kubrick was a kind of hit, really so damn modern, the review... I wouldn’t say it’s badly written but it seems a bit out of focus, too serious compared to a film that thrives on play, and you’re right to highlight this aspect, in belonging to a genre there's its quid, I mean it should have been, in my opinion!, more mathematical and less fatalistic, you know :D

clearly more than a review, it is a pamphlet, not entirely mistaken as an idea considering it is one of the classic films that transition from the history of cinema to that of society. I remember seeing it in a rather moderate film forum (it's a movie to watch in a theater with an audience to gauge its impact; there were 200 people!) but it didn't provoke any reactions of denial, a sign that the ecclesiastical hierarchies were not so in tune with the faithful, or so-called faithful. Not so much a personal opinion, it has been fashionable to speak against the church for at least 1,700 years.

Wasn't Lucchetti's film in the competition?
