The review is very nice and spot on... I found the album in full about a month ago and I've listened to it several times... I really believe they had some excellent tracks and they "HAD TO" add other less defined ones. I only disagree with you regarding the step back to Dear Catastrophe Waitress that I think they took (trivialities) and the rating of the album. All of this is EXACTLY because they will sell more.

I'm sorry if anyone is offended... I found 5 tracks from Adams's album (because you know... I download and buy... and listen) 2/3 albums a week (I'm a junkie) so I've heard it... he's a packaged pretty boy with a nice voice. He has nothing new or interesting to say for me. And he can't be "the most complete singer-songwriter of the new generation"... that's too much. Unless you have heard, besides Banhart and Merritt (mentioned by Donjunio), people who have been around for about ten years (like him) but have between fifteen and twenty works to their name... Molina (Songs: Ohia), Farina (Karate), his majesty Will Oldham (Palace, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, etc...), the two Uncle Tupelo who gave birth to Son Volt and Wilco... and so on and on and on.... Sorry, but you really missed the mark.

Black Eyed Peas... Mr (the family) Adams... MTV... you never listen to music, you watch television... and I believe that compared to the soundtracks of OC, this comes off as good.
