Even my vinyl is a bit worn out, but now I also have the CD... still, I'm convinced it's Art, in its purest form... it might sound a bit old, but it sounds wonderfully good...

On Soulseek, I found the second one from a Japanese guy (!!!!!!!!) who even had Aria... and I think with a bit of patience you'll find it... I'm not saying he copied, but he definitely "helped" them in the decision to change direction... and as I said above, being both on Harvest, I really believe they heard it. Not copied, but if you find it, let me know if you don’t spot a few ideas from Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, etc... especially in Gilmour's arpeggios and in Gilmour's use of his voice... I also find that Floyd gave their best in Piper, with Barrett's genius... but you know this is a long and endless discussion. Then if you really want to "desecrate" Floyd a bit more, try looking for the piece Fields Of Regrets by Alice Cooper, from their debut (1969) and you'll hear exactly, in the intro and in the ending (the sound) typical of The Wall...

Aniel... a couple of years ago, my musical snack partner invited me to his place, telling me he had a big surprise... I showed up all excited, loaded with albums I had collected in the meantime, and as soon as I arrived, he started talking about Sorrenti. I'm old enough to remember "Figli delle stelle" when it came out, and as a child, I was also quite impressed, but in front of that moment, I thought we had reached the point of no return in our musical exchanges. The record started playing, and after 20 minutes of "Aria", I got up, politely said goodbye, and went home utterly defeated... I think since then I've listened to it a thousand times in all possible states of mind, and believe me, I've been thinking about this thing with the Floyd for a long time (I repeat, they heard it and liked it...) and I only dared to mention it in public now. You might not feel "Aria" in your bones, but if you listen to it, it leaves you speechless... I swear.

Yes, but if you allow me, there is no comparison whatsoever between the two collaborations... and not because of Guccini... and fundamentally not even due to the Nomadi (of which I own this and the double studio collection), but the others are from another planet... as for good Cecco, I prefer Radici and as a live testimony, Fra la Via Emilia e il West...

And the thing that makes me ponder the most is the record label... I can't imagine that no one at Harvest (EMI) who heard the album didn't "let it be heard" by Waters and the others... I think they must have also been taken aback by a nobody, especially an Italian... although later I believe they had a good laugh when they heard Dicitnciello vuie or Stars' Sons and Daughters.

It's clear that the Floyd didn't do everything based on Aria, but what I think is exactly what you just said, Aristarco... they've certainly given it more than a few listens... you can hear it, like in the album Wish You Were Here... for me...

Question... Aria was released in '72 by Harvest... in '73 the Floyd (who have always been with Harvest) decisively change their musical direction and settle into a "pop-rock-psychedelic" style that captures the general public. Is my theory so fanciful that Waters, but especially Gilmour, found in this album more than just a source of inspiration...???

De André in Italian music (and perhaps not only) is like the Great Wall of China among man-made structures... it’s the only one visible to the naked eye from the moon, I assure you, along with Neil Armstrong…

I love For Respect a lot, because during my (brief) time as a """metalhead""" it struck me... but II is terrifying... as if your guts are trying to burst out of your eyes... (maybe I exaggerated a bit... maybe not)

I would give you a 6 just for the quote from My Own Private Idaho (I'll Sleep When I'm Dead makes me a bit sick as a translation, but...).
