The Gentle Waves Swansong For You
Voto:
The review is truly spot on; I got the record in the throes of a strong infatuation for B&B, but I have to say it left me a bit "disappointed"... Francoise Herdy is the best comparison I've read...

alias maybe you're right... but you have to admit that there should be millions of records made like this.

For me, they are a 5 in Demon Box... but it’s really difficult (impossible…???) to find an album below the very generous pass mark... overflowing.

I think Don has hit the nail on the head... this album (poorly received and not only by the buyers) has pushed Young towards a very specific path... he has returned to his work with Buffalo and electrified it, bringing it into the present day with an ever-renewed verve (let's not even talk about the '80s) trying to keep up with the times, both in sound solutions and while always remaining somewhat detached (and therefore ahead) of the trends. But here, in my opinion, he is letting himself (or at least trying) go to his imagination, even the darker side, searching for something that wasn't strictly within his wheelhouse...

local mind... I think it’s beautiful. The encyclopedic detail or the list of songs with brief descriptions seems superfluous to me, and it’s already there anyway. I like it... the album is a truly remarkable collection of tracks (and what tracks)... in the LP version, there’s also a magnificent book (cover size) with photos taken from the film... it’s worth it.

I only say that from 1967 to 2006, almost 40 years have passed... thirty-nine to be precise (I like to be a real stickler) and let's not even get started on the horrors of spelling/syntax/""""logical"""" analysis.

ptr... you are right. now it has kind of disappeared, in fact music farm is a symptom of that. but here we are on a page of great, truly great music.

Well done, Pepperism... it was already there, but I like this one. I "gifted" 6 months of my life solely to them. I wanted to hear nothing else but them... "Picture yourself in a boat on a river with tangerine trees and marmalade skies"... with some friends, we put together a fanzine dedicated to sixties music and the name is... Marmalade Skies... Well done again. Ah... the film, nearly 40 years later, is still magnificently visionary.

For Punisher... if The Age Of Consent by Bronski Beat is a 4, this is a 105... sorry. for the sixteen... better if you drown in acid.
