Anyway: what the hell does it matter that Nirvana were (not "are," because they broke up for your information) around for a long time while Linkin Park were not? It seems to me that Linkin Park are very famous, unfortunately, and they have reached (if not even surpassed) Nirvana's fame... I was referring to the lyrics and what they represented for thousands of kids... For the first time, I agree with you, Alexis, regarding Metallica. When I was lent their latest album, I started crying out of despair: A COMPLETE PIECE OF SHIT!!! As for the whole "selling out" thing, let's always take Metallica as an example: it’s absolutely true that they’ve sold out, but they made the history of metal, they created a genre, made unforgettable albums, and we can't even compare them to Linkin Park… listen to Master of Puppets, And Justice for All, Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning and you'll understand their true importance; without these bands, your beloved Linkin P. would have been just a dream… and in the case of Metallica, the fact that they commercialized is a negative factor because for someone like me, who grew up on a diet of bread and Master of Puppets (their musical legacy), a CD like St. Anger is absolutely unacceptable, and who knows how many people think the same… it’s not always true, unfortunately, that if someone buys the CD it means they like it: usually (let’s say 95% of the time) the people who purchase a CD are influenced by many things: the cool single, the radio and television bombarding us every second, the singer being a heartthrob, a friend, a grandma, a doctor, a dog, a cat, etc...
