One of the pillars of death metal worldwide, without this, nothing moves forward. Well done, jigorone, I'm glad to see you approaching the blasphemous world of Morbid Angel, but above all, I'm pleased to see that you've done it with a record like this. Anyway, a note on the songwriting: the lyrics of Altars may not be anything special, but we must say that Morbid Angel introduced new themes in death metal: no more blood, guts everywhere, mutilation, and torture, but a little deeper lyrics, like those, indeed, anti-Christian ones. Great jig ;-)

In their early albums, Norvheim were making black metal and were openly inspired by Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. With their latest album, they have evolved, and you can really hear it – they now have a gothic setup. And is it a small thing to be appreciated abroad??? Especially in a country like England, which is quite snobbish towards foreign bands, particularly Italian ones: this means they are not completely fools. How many bands from our country are well appreciated abroad? Really just a few.
