Immortal Battles In The North

Do they make you feel sorry for them? Do they make you feel sorry for them? I wish there were more black metal bands like Immortal; they’ve never missed a beat, neither before nor after Battles in the North. Even Sons of Northern Darkness is a great album, when I was expecting a half-assed commercial disappointment (money, money…). Yes, the production is a bit messy, like in 95% of black metal albums, but it creates that perfect dark feeling of the record.

put it this way: Quorton, in terms of importance, is on par with Chuck Shouldiner

Jigoro, I won’t allow you to belittle a group that created both black and viking, setting a precedent in the extreme scene. For once, trust me, this CD is not just pure and simple black, with screams from the damned, the usual tupatupatupatupa and satan and crosses everywhere. This CD is completely different, starting from the cover. I understand that you might be repulsed by the production (the first time I heard it, I was scared), but the beauty of Bathory does not lie in the clarity of the sounds (it was recorded in Quorton’s garage) nor in the technique of the individual members (it is said that the bassist, for example, was a friend of Quorton, and in order to get him off the streets and away from drugs, Quorton had him play with him for a while). Blood Fire Death is the Viking essence made into a record, the icy lands of the north, the legendary battles fought among ancient Norse gods... I'm sorry, but that two cannot exist.

No no, Fallen, we’re not there yet... the last lines are taken directly from the title track blood fire death. How could I not quote at least that part of the lyrics, so epic, glorious, aggressive, yet also so melancholic and dark, which together with the music create a unique, inimitable sound. Thank you for the compliments; I recognize that I got a bit carried away, Bathory is one of my favorite bands and the excitement of reviewing a monument like blood... was just too much.

Ah, when we still didn't think about the bank account...... "Ride the Lightning" is Metallica's darkest album, absolutely "malevolent." The title track and "Creeping Death" alone devour the entire CD, and I also think "Escape" and "Trapped Under Ice" are great songs. Different times........

Damn it, I want the DVD!!!!! I'd love to listen to an interview with the Motors, I bet they were half drunk, right? Oh well, I guess I'll console myself with the live DVD "everything louder than everything else," really nice. What videos are on the DVD?

Uhm, I'm curious about the first three, also because I really have very little gothic-doom, and if you say it approaches black in certain ways, I can't resist. I'll try to get my hands on something, thanks for the help.
