Thank you, laurafiesolana, I am "good"! I discovered Daniel Johnston completely by chance; I don't particularly follow Naif singer-songwriters, but when I read that "he wanted to be the Beatles," but couldn't because he didn't know how to sing, and that during concerts he cries and gets tangled up while playing, I said to myself, "I definitely have to listen to something of his!"

And then who knows why 9 out of 10 comments gave a flat 1 to this album... are we all fake Easycure fans?? AUHAUHAUHAUHAUHAUHAUHAUH, thanks for putting me in a good mood this morning with your load of crystal-clear nonsense!

Squonk, please don’t be ridiculous! Me, Easycure?! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AH, go and get yourself a cure, buddy! I’ve argued with Easycure about his review of Metropolis; go read my past comments there! And once, I even criticized Easycure harshly. ā€œThe coincidence of banality between the twoā€? I mean, you give this album 5 stars, and you still talk? Have you even read the review? Do you hear that the DT on this album sound like another 12 bands altogether? Come on, Easycure wraps it up for you whenever he feels like it on the DT... so funny. You want to compare Sonic Youth and Pere Ubu to this band? Maybe you’re 13 years old? Because otherwise, I don’t understand your complete lack of critical spirit. And me, biased... but if I’m a former fan, how could I start from a biased position? Could it not be possible that this album really sucks, right?

Punisher, you are an adult, and much more than I am. I thought you would figure out on your own that this was NOT meant to be a review, but look, it’s far from my intention to give even a summary description of the album in question. If I had wanted to jot down the usual shopping list of influences and genres touched upon by Johnston, or worse, describe the songs of such an album, I would have undoubtedly done so. And I would have done it with the same cynicism with which I wrote the review about the Dt a few days ago, and with the same cynicism that permeates your post. It’s true that someone like El Guevo, obviously familiar with the album and the man, quickly understood that descriptions of any kind are banned from this page. I understand that you want to know who the hell this guy is in concrete terms, but it won’t be my NON-review that will help you understand. This page is just a tribute to the little great Johnston, and having read some of your posts in other reviews, I also doubt that you would even like the album. It would be too "whiny" for you, and I would understand that, given that it’s one of the technical flaws of the "home-made" album itself. But the rating, I repeat, goes beyond the intrinsic value of the album. This is what I wanted to write, and this is what I wrote.

Yes, in fact I didn’t quite understand that ā€œwell, I’m Jeff Buckley,ā€ I thought it was something like ā€œI’m on Jeff Buckley’s sideā€! :-P

But excuse me, I demand intellectual honesty: 1) resentful of what? If I liked them, I would listen to them without problems. Since for me the albums after Sky Moves are banal (overall I mean, since there are some nice songs among Signify, In Absentia, etc., etc.), I don’t listen to them, it’s that simple. Then excuse me, Adriano, I must have argued 4,569 million times explaining why I don’t like them, detailing what I don’t like about PT... and you come to tell me that I’m biased? Where? Look, they didn’t pay me to review Deadwing, nor to criticize PT. 2) If I criticize them, it’s because it comes naturally to me, without trying to annoy either you or any other PT fan. I would have avoided reiterating this here, but as you can see, Blackdog has teased me...

I'm afraid that the songs mentioned by Bonny91 will make Adriano throw up... it's just my impression.

Ok OK, you have all the time to discover new things.. Between King Crimson and Floyd? I like both, but I might lean towards Floyd; their early albums I really enjoy, and anyway, I don't dislike the Floyd of the 70s either (even though I'm not crazy about them).
