I recall, during an intense yet stimulating debate here on DeBaser with the "infamous" Vic Sorriso, a rather emphatic definition given by the latter about the concept of a "masterpiece" in art.
Good old Vic insisted on believing that it was necessary to "Be living masterpieces to create a masterpiece."
At first, it seemed to me a rather gaudy claim made to impress the current debaseriota (or debaserian?). But a few moments later, through an act of Versthen, I understood what he meant. However, if I had been asked for a rational explanation of it, I probably would have remained silent. I did understand his idea about it, but I lacked the appropriate terms to express it.
Today, however, I have finally found the terms, and they are only a couple.
