And then... the 4 groups I mentioned have nothing to do with the prog of DT, I can figure that out on my own thanks...(thankfully they have nothing to do with it). My was a qualitative comparison, certainly not a genre one. Yes, the post-punk, noise, pop of Doolittle by the Pixies has nothing to do with Systematic, BUT it is STILL SUPERIOR qualitatively. I mean, historically, expressively, at the stylistic level... it has been more important in the history of rock, come on, are we kidding? Personal tastes have nothing to do with it here, or at any rate, they always matter only relatively. And finally, that "nobody cared about them" referring to Television... what does that mean? Are you sure that nobody cared about them? And even if nobody cared about them, what are you trying to say? That since nobody cared about them, they are worth little? Do you realize that a sentence like that makes no sense? It would be like saying that Vasco is a great rock star because here in Italy many people idolize him and he fills stadiums... I beg you, come on.

And then, excuse me, presumption seems like a forced term. Am I not free to assert that those four bands I mentioned are worth a listen, while the last album by DT isn't worth my time? Can I not be free to say that?

I understand that it bothers you a lot to "bring me into this," but it's not that easy, huh? So my sentence, "And anyway, we're talking about Pixies, Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, Pere Ubu, Television to help you understand what I consider worthy of being listened to, compared to Systematic, which is unworthy of being listened to," was primarily a RESPONSE to what squonk said, which was: "I find myself talking, on a review of my Dream Theater, about Pixies, Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, Pere Ubu, Television. It makes no sense." So, if YOU keep pushing these same four indie punk noise bands on me, I’m forced to respond. I mentioned them once in the review. For me, that would have been enough. If then the average DT fan comes out and starts saying, "Sonic Youth sucks because they can’t play, DT is great because they're very technical," unfortunately I have to respond. Even if it makes me really not want to, "at a certain point."

And anyway, we’re talking about Pixies, Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, Pere Ubu, Television to help you understand what I consider worthy of being listened to, compared to Systematic, which is unworthy of being listened to. Also because I’ve spoken enough about it in the review of the latest DT album. And I assure you that the problem isn't just the plagiarism, but the ridiculous way the Dream write a song. I mean, they really use compositional stereotypes to get by. I hate to look like Easy’s sycophant and reiterate the things he said about Metropolis. But on Systematic Chaos, the flaws he noticed in SFAM are ultra-amplified. I encourage everyone to listen to the album in this regard.

"The well-played and perfect solo by Petrucci"....etc

Ah Squonk, how long are you going to go on about this? Jesus... I was just joking, can’t you see the irony in my post? Come on. Of course, Ondarock's statement remains ridiculous, to be honest. The problem is obviously another one. Perhaps you’re just not used to conceptualizing things in a certain way when talking about rock. Maybe you caught a glimpse of a similar conceptualization because both mine and Ondarock's are CRITICAL. As critical as mine can be, considering I still have too many important listens left and I need to gain a lot of experience. But at least I tried to go beyond "the perfectly played solo by Petrucci." I don’t know if I’m making myself clear. It's a bit like saying "Marcuse conceptualizes in a way similar to Kant"... I mean, they are both philosophers.

Don't make me repeat the same things; I, for one, have said that this is not a NON review. Ghemison, your little comment feels off after mine and Zaireeka's comments. A little sensitivity, come on, not towards my NON review, but at least towards Daniel...
