But when have the last VU albums ever been regarded as important as the first two? It is precisely the first two albums that are superior to the 30 records by the Rolling Stones. "The Stones in the Sixties defined the basic coordinates of modern rock and roll," right. The VU, however, defined (in the same era) the coordinates for post-modern rock, seminal for all alternative rock as we know it today, which seems to me to be considerably more relevant. As you can see, the discussion always falls back to that point.

47 that the VU and the Stones have different attitudes is very true, so much so that I had already said it myself.. To me, the Rolling Stones really feel like classic R'n'R; I don't want to say that it's "bad" or "good" (I just limit myself to saying that it was somewhat conservative, even at the time) I only say that at the turn of the 60s and 70s, many contemporary bands that were approaching psychedelia and daring to experiment with "noise" and distancing themselves from the stereotype of "sex, drugs, and R'n'R" were, as one can easily deduce, better than the Stones. Obviously, an Exile On Main Street feels more "Christian Democrat" than a Parable Of Arable Land, and I don't even need to explain why..

However, with the monster on the cover of "I'm Going Slightly Mad" by Queen, he got it right; it’s identical!

Lovelorn truly everyone at least says they are also Gothic.. Fidia, for me there's nothing obvious, especially when discussing bands that used to play metal, and then became pathetic clones of Depeche Mode :-D Then I have to reiterate that Swans and Neurosis have metal influences in their background too, unless by metal you mean the typical heavy guitar sound like Iron Maiden, which is a purely True conception of it. The silent enigma (and the rest of Anathema and PL) disappointed me long before I knew what Scaruffi thought, and when I found out, I don't hide that I "intensely loved" it, if only because he thought like me on practically everything. Just take a quick look at other comments of mine and you'll see that in other cases I significantly diverge from Scaruffi's thoughts. That said, I can assure you that overall Anathema make me sick regardless of Piero; it was disgust at first listen. Moreover, some of my negative personal observations about Anathema also differ from Scaruffi's, as I point out the baroque, heavy, and ultimately pathetic ampulosity of their attitude (and in this album it perhaps reaches its peak), to the point of sounding like childish pseudo-psychedelic pop in their subsequent works, which would be an understatement to consider banal. Of course, I assure you that this is all my own opinion; Scaruffi was more of a "confirmation" in that sense.

j&r, for pity's sake, I forgot an S when writing "sticky finger," it's quite pointless for you to underline that.. Then again, I shared my thoughts on Queen, but other than "QUEEN SHIT," do you have any other justification to support such a colorful expression?
