"Well, you only listen to new wave... change genre once in a while!" Oh sure! Seems fair! Which bands should I have talked about, considering the conversation had shifted to Litfiba? Rush and Van der Graaf Generator?? "The album moves me" has much more meaning than these three adjectives "derivative, glossy, and pre-packaged"... derivative? glossy? pre-packaged?... are you speaking nonsense?" ---- maybe it means more to you, since you like the album and apparently you're not open to hearing anyone who might change your mind. But at least I tried to say something more (and less subjective) than just "the album is bad because it doesn't move me." I explained, in my small way, WHY it would be considered bad.

Chinaski, you’re worsening your position more and more... now it’s me who only knows Dinosaur Jr.. strange though that it’s been 50 posts where I’ve explained to you why and how the last album by After is terrible, and you can’t find anything better to do than to sidetrack, sidetrack, and sidetrack the topic, coming up with absurd nonsense like the fact that I should only know 3 or 4 bands.. make peace with your brain, and try to tell me sensibly why this album by Agnelli and company should be good, come on. You're the one talking nonsense here.

That time-wasting Chinaski has popped up again... and continues to write nonsense: "...I bet you only know Pere Ubu and three or four other bands... at least mention Trout Mask Replica, right?... I UNDERSTAND that you’re trying to act cool, but deep down you always circle back to those 2 or 3 bands..." --- 1: TMR by Beefheart doesn’t fit into the new wave category, no matter how brilliant it is. So it’s pointless to bring it up. 2: I don’t recall mentioning Talking Heads and Wire before, so it’s not true that "I only know those 3 or 4 bands," especially since just the ones I listed previously are more than 4. If I were to also mention Television and PIL, you’d just bug me even more with this coolness thing, which is starting to become pathetic... tell me what the hell someone needs to say to make you understand that Desaparecido is at least a bit derivative. What should I refer to, if not other albums of that kind? The sentence "this album was born old and incapable of telling anything interesting, because it’s derivative, polished, and pre-packaged, adorned with various arrangements but absolutely lacking in depth and meaning, precisely because it's standard" is crystal clear for anyone who wants to understand me. You want to pretend not to get what I’m trying to say, so do as you please.

Let's say I prefer originals to copies (for obvious reasons)... but aside from being derivative, it’s their way of feeling rock in this album that comes off as fake, plastic, so Italian in its exaltation of the pathetic and pathemic form, stupidly playing with "influences" from across the ocean, trying to appear (to themselves for real) pseudo-intellectuals.

Well, you know how it is dear YC, every now and then as a former fan of the Queen I keep getting the stage name of Frederick Bulsara wrong... that doesn't change the fact that if you take a look at the comments, I'm not exactly the only one who despises these clowns.

Years ago, the Debaser fans were truly kinder; perhaps there was something magical about pages like these. Reviews like this one are obviously a straight-up 1, but something keeps me from voting. On the contrary, I have no issues giving a high rating to this great album.
Yo La Tengo And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out

Among the Yo La Tengo songs I've listened to, this is one of the ones I like the least; you can already sense the atmosphere of static melancholy from Summer Sun.

Alright, it’s true, these days I'm really pissed off because my team of assholes is blowing the championship, what idiots, I am the greatest and most charming coach in town, I deserve more, I can't stand Agnelli because just hearing the name reminds me of Rubentus, and Trent Reznor because he looks like that mausoleum of Figo, what assholes they both are!

I don't know what meaning you give to the term experimentalism; it's not that for me a record sounds "strange," the more I like it, quite the opposite sometimes. But does healthy intellectualism exist? Or is anyone who dares to ask even basic and legitimate questions about what they listen to always to be labeled as a pseudo-intellectual? Sometimes it seems to me that there's an atmosphere of "listen if you like it but don't ask yourself why."
