Don't kid yourself into thinking there's such a huge quality difference between certain Genesis stuff and Spears... I mean, aside from the so-called "technical proficiency" (which isn't a virtue in itself, it's just a formal condition NOT necessary to make good music) that Genesis have always had, I don't see any artistic merits in certain abominations like "Invisible Touch." If an album is poor, it's poor because better ones exist in the world. Sure, the albums by Britney Spears might suck even more than this album, but that's a weak consolation.
