Good job Fabio for bringing up this group. I'm sorry they have never been reviewed despite having a long career of great albums behind them. This one is good too; there are four or five excellent songs. They have always been "committed," always "struggling," always "against." Sometimes folk, sometimes rock: ballads, diatribes, engagement. A "real" band, not polished, with whom I've sometimes compared the likes of Ligabue, De Gregori, and company. Perhaps less class, definitely much more substance.

There was another composer like Vangelis in the '80s, a certain Schlassinger or something like that... a bit too sweet...

Come on Enea, Vangelis, if not for romantic-love-teen-emotional-spot reasons, it's hard to digest.

But this is a collection, a summary, a best of, the best of, am I wrong???

Of course we’re talking about this album Enea... this collection of "themes"...

Atmospheres like "Nataleconlanevecandida" or "lacrimedigioiaperlavittoriainspera ta." Too much Vodafone, if you know what I mean. I mean, all it takes is the very dated Morricone from spaghetti westerns for a comparison that clearly favors the Italian! Of course, everyone overlays their own memories on these tunes and... puffete, that certain song becomes divine. I play along in this game too.

Well done, Enea! However, I have some reservations about Vangelis' music. It’s a bit light, a bit too pop (in the derogatory sense of the term), a bit too pompous, a bit too heavy, a bit too rhetorical, a bit outdated, too embellished and, based on what you write, it feels "too commercial." To put it in perspective, Morricone's music, even after decades, is still cutting-edge. Listening to this, on the other hand, it feels like I'm watching hundreds of commercial breaks pass before my eyes...

Very beautiful and a moolto bella review (as you can see, I'm left speechless...). However, among all that luxury, there’s a little flea that itches and I have to provoke you, Charley: tell me a year from those years (from the '50s to the '70s) in which there wasn't even one masterpiece...

Aeneas, this review is clearly copied! But until they paste the link, you deserve a 5!
