Come on, you’re young... I also discovered by chance the... Led Zeppelin and many others long after they had come out. And so did each of us. Young starblazer: the band is great, unfortunately you listened to that masterpiece, Automatic for the People, through the greatest hits and couldn’t discover it in its entirety, so go get it. But I also especially recommend the pre-1988 period, not included in your best of, during which R.E.M. exploded with small and unforgettable masterpieces... hurry to find them!

And finally, given your super snobbery, do you have any ideas of your own? Or do you just keep going on with Pasolini, Rollins, Vian, and the like? Each of these had their own ideas after a personal journey, perhaps filled with research, study, trials, apprenticeship, experiences, released records, books, films... and you? I believe you are in this phase of frantic searching.
