Furthermore, I highly recommend: The Stand (almost on par with It for me); Sometimes They Come Back (Out of this World); Skeleton Crew (before falling asleep); Different Seasons (a myth, truly great… perhaps contains some of his most beautiful stories); Four Past Midnight (Wild Fantasy); 'Salem's Lot (almost a classic); On Writing (a great lesson on writing!); followed by Misery, The Dead Zone, Gerald's Game; And if you still have time, the entire Dark Tower series (and also the others)! In short, a great writer of our times, very much underrated in my opinion.

Holy shit, holy SHIT!!!!!! It was one of the few reviews I really wanted to write!!!! Come on Girasole, noooooooo! This monument deserves so much more. But I can understand that it’s not easy to write about Esso, and maybe it’s better this way. It’s an epic. When this book came out, I thought it was a joke... what is it? A non-metaphorical brick. I don’t remember how many pages, but it went over a thousand. It didn’t matter, bitten into, savored, and digested forever. The initial image for example, that little paper boat slipping into the sewer, is one for the ages. Just like the appearances of the Monster in the cold or heat of Maine. But, the most beautiful and poignant part is the friendship of those kids. Real, deep, that lasts through the years and is found again. It’s a fantastic book for those who want to dream.
