Nirvana MTV Unplugged In New York

I couldn't read all the comments. So I apologize if I repeat things that have already been said. I know and have known Nirvana very well, and I can say: the live performance is very beautiful; I don't know why, but it's moving, there's no denying it. I don't know if it's because of the meaning we later attributed to it or because of Kurt's sad bark like that of a dying dog. I really don't know. But on one thing you are right. Kurt, in particular, was at the end of his rope. Dirty and probably high. No myth here, just misfortune.

Muffinman, I completely disagree with you. Masterpiece album. Maybe it's not the best of '62, but if this doesn't deserve a full 5...

Aside from the amusing skit about Roma/Lazio, I seize on Il Losco's provocation: you seem to forget, in your probabilistic calculations, HOW someone dies. Because if someone dies falling from a railing (which unfortunately happened recently), that's one thing, but if someone dies of a heart attack after being chased, beaten, or stabbed during a healthy sports match, the math doesn't add up. Let's also include in the count the casualties on the other side, namely the law enforcement officers. By the way: how much I can't stand the enormous waste of public money (officers and vehicles engaged for an entire day chasing buses and trains and then around the stadiums and then again stations, buses, and trains) during football matches.

Telespalla, given that I usually indulge in useless sarcasm, I’m worried about your way of thinking. What do you mean I shouldn’t believe "the state and the press"? And why not? Shouldn’t I believe in newspapers, in news broadcasts, in essays, in magazines, in the police, in the directors, in the agents in riot gear who block me every other Sunday outside my house making me walk an extra three kilometers, in personal experiences, in the matches watched at the stadium, in years of tragedies of all kinds (the first one I remember is that of the fan who was killed with a firework lodged in his eye)??? I believe in the State. And usually, I also believe in the press. Franci!... "they sweat and struggle for something"... come on.... I take my hat off to those who work on Sundays, to those who do night shifts, to those who bust their ass to keep the business running, to support their families, themselves. Quietly, all their lives. I’m sorry, but I can’t grasp, I mean, my damned head just can’t wrap around this concept: a group of men sweating and toiling all week, for almost a year, for almost a lifetime... for Sunday’s match. I’m sorry, I just can’t do it.

Telespallabob, Franci!... ball revisionism! Could we have been wrong about the Ultras!? I would need a low-interest loan, do you think I can confidently turn to them? Blackdog has a childhood marked by a denied goal... and look at how he writes now. The power of the ball!

Yes, good. Soccer would be fun, but as it is, it sucks. Worst of all are the so-called ultras. They wait for Sunday for the game. They live for it, they organize themselves, they feel bad or good over a soccer match. A ridiculous soccer match. A ball is made with a rubber bladder covered by pieces of leather sewn together. The game consists of 22 men who, running and kicking, must get the ball into a large net more times than the opponent. A man who lives for a ball is a man (already) dead.

There is: "...a bit like what Gino does when he talks about Eddie Cochran, and he hides behind a 'in England they know him, in Italy they don't'. Who is hiding? I was responding to my friend Supersoul's statement.
