I have no words. I hadn't realized there was a lack of a review for the album in question. Although I had already noticed the shortage of writings dedicated to none other than the good old Billy the Kid, I hadn't yet noticed this gap.
Yet his production was quite prolific. On a qualitative level, then, the first part is at least worth knowing.
It is also true that, "Piano Man," at times (!) seems only a slightly more mature continuation of the debut (which I personally appreciate a lot), but the outgoing "Captain Jack," to name one, is enough to make it a great album.
Joel deserved more attention, both on DeBaser and in Italy.
Come on. Get yourself this album and come break my incisors if it's not to your liking.
Should I have written a review? Maybe. I should have at least found one. At least one.
"The title track is undoubtedly one of his best songs ever."
"Piano Man saw Billy Joel enrich his sound with new instruments, moving closer to American tradition."
