Coup or not, police excesses or not, black bloc or not, mistakes or not... there are objective facts such as: 15 convictions among the police forces for the torture of detainees at the Bolzaneto barracks (go read about the physical and psychological torture "In the 'infernal circle,' described by the prosecutors, there were boys and girls who were beaten, kept standing for hours with their hands raised, taken to the bathroom and left with the doors open, insulted, stripped, mocked, and threatened with worse troubles, including sodomy, a salami used as a truncheon, a hand splayed and broken."). They were calm there, in their barracks, without incursions from demonstrators and yet... The Public Prosecutor requested the conviction of De Gennaro, former head of the police. We are not talking about the "poor" Placanica; we are talking about the head of the police who gave the orders for the raid on the Diaz school and then to cover up the investigations. But in the case of the Diaz school, there were "only" 13 convictions among the police forces, and the police leadership was acquitted. These are facts. Then there are also the video recordings, showing the police in riot gear entering the Diaz school to literally smash the heads of people. It was pure luck that no one died. In addition to the video footage of policemen and carabinieri breaking bones, obviously alongside idiots smashing windows. In that entire infernal circle (swept from headlines since September 11), I would like to remember who was President of that Government. Who was it? Do you remember? A phrase I found online and remember well: "As per the script of a film from another time (Luce), on Sunday the 22nd, President Berlusconi inspects a chosen contingent of the police forces to personally thank them for their service during the G8. Who knows who the lucky ones were. The images aired on TV, and the journalistic commentary reported that Berlusconi said, addressing the police officers, 'Soon we will also think about your salaries.'"

CptGaio, indeed, especially in mountaineering situations, all voices should be heard. Anyway, "La morte sospesa" shocked me.

I've admired the Jayhawks but I'm not familiar with this album. I'm looking for it.

Very enjoyable review. I strongly recommend Aria Sottile by Krakauer - Ed. Tea and La Morte Sospesa by Simpson - Ed. Cda Vivalda. Two more books that can be devoured in a day.

I guess the only D'Angelo worth mentioning is the one from the '70s-80s movies where he sang love songs at the top of his lungs....

"Human wheels" is one of my favorite singles by Mellencamp. Deep, essential, dark, and raw. With a melodic hook that stays with you.

Here I accuse strongly. I bought Rumors and for me the Fleetwood search ended, maybe it's time to listen to this.
