Here: I’ve finished mulling it over. You know what I’ll tell you, Punny? "Classics" have helped me live (simply, but also everything else...). If you take a novella by Pirandello, a text by Ignazio Silone, a book by Italo Svevo, Cesare Pavese, Vittorini, Fenoglio, Pasolini, Tondelli, Calvino... just to stick to the last century. You’ll notice that in each of their books there’s a truth, a way of living, of seeing life. Those are true sages. On the other hand, a text written specifically to teach something has always made me a bit sad (except for the extremely useful one about a thousand sailor knots). What could be better than learning from real lives, real stories, real people who narrate without the burden of having to teach you something?

Good job, The cold. I feel these stories, like that of Into the Wild, stuck to me, just like when you say that this guy would dive from unusual heights to feel alive. I came across the book the other day in a bookstore; knowing the writer, I read the topic but, precisely because it involved the war in Iraq, I skipped it.

Bender, if you haven't heard it, it's because you're going to the club too much and your ears are blocked.

I consider it one of the masterpieces of the past century. A magnificent painting, very modern. I like everything, absolutely everything in it. I admire Hopper; he must be considered a Master.

Tarpit okay.. but you can't cite the best XTC songs without mentioning the Beatles: I think XTC wouldn't even have existed without the Beatles.

Tarpit: "On the podium AFTER Kinks and XTC for English pop-rock". What is pop-rock? Clearly, when it comes to music, the Beatles are light-years ahead of the two mentioned albums.
